Why can't all CDs be as great value for money as this one?, 5 Nov 2003
At 3.99 pounds for 9 tracks totalling 63 minutes, this excellent set of remixes is longer than most albums out there and has to be one of the bargains of the year w.r.t. "CD singles". It should be noted that if you're a completist, I suspect every single one of the tracks is available elsewhere (yes, including the 2 "new" Ernest St. Laurent remixes, which are actually on 12" as well). Ironically, the one version they left off that most punters will already have but isn't a remix is the live version at the end of Sophie Ellis Bextor's [re-released] debut album.Groovejet succeeds because it's a nice looping rhythm guitar and backing (hey, it's only about 5 seconds played over and over again in slightly different ways, but it works surprisingly well) and has Sophie's added vocals, although she does sound like she's half-way down a coal shaft the way her voice comes out somewhat echoey and tinny in places. :-) One final note - Positiva have released 10 of these CD singles to celebrate 10 years of existence, but looking at the list of the rest, this is just about the only one that a) has a high quality base track and b) most people will know about ! Yes, the original release was UK #1 in case you forgot...

Finally! All the mixes on CD!, 27 Oct 2003
One of the biggest dance tunes of the 00s, Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) features vocals from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, layered over the original club smash 'Groovejet' which features samples from Carol Williams' Love Is You!This 2003 Re-release as part of Positiva's 10th anniversary celebrations has a meaty NINE tracks, now that the release isn't constrained by charting restrictions (for a single to chart, it must be no more than 20mins long!!!), there is a great selection of mixes, from the likes of Todd Terry, Solar and Ray Roc, as well as two brand new mixes from Ernest St. Laurent! The mixes cater for almost every taste, ranging from dubs to vocal mixes, to a 'traditional' extended mix. This disc also features the original 'Groovejet'!
