DVD Description

"For all we know, he could be part of Al-Qaeda!"
"Does he look like he works in a furniture store?"

Times are hard again. Bankrupt and back to selling dodgy Slovakian log-effect gas fires, Del’s even driving for Boycie. Trotters Independent Trading Co. needs capital – pronto. So when the brothers decide to travel to Normandy to represent Uncle Albert at a war reunion, a "nothing to declare" visit to a wine warehouse with Denzil’s new van seems a cushty option. But chamboussiz nouvelle! France is like a foreign country: the reunion town is full of Albert-a-likes ("more Captain Birdseye’s Banjo than Captain Morelli’s Mandarin"), they bring back an illegal immigrant and somehow become the internationally-hunted "Gary Gang".

Not being a fan of 'Only Fools and Horses', I accidentally flicked on to it when this episode was on TV the other day and couldn't tear myself from it for a minute. It was hilarious and I could not stop laughing! You have to buy this video it's sooo funny :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fools!, 22 Nov 2003
A fabulous new episode featuring the brothers from Peckham and the "gang". I just saw this episode recently (couldn't see it on TV), and I thought it was great (better than the Christmas special before this). The story was great, and the comedy was up to the standard of the brilliant John Sullivan. A must must for any Fools fan, and anybody who enjoys British comedy!

2.0 out of 5 stars oh , 25 Mar 2008

The second part of the final, yes the real final of triology episodes is pretty average in parts and in some ways i can sense humilation in some of the actors faces at the material they are asked to work with, but there are still some jokes here that rank as good as any of the classic only fools material so all is far from lost.
I could write about only fools all day if i wanted, such is my admiration for the greatest british comedy of all time, this featurelength episode is lost in finding a good joke and overselling it until it dies a death that sends my cheeks red with shame, the examples at end include the overuse of the onion hairgel joke and the gary joke, this was not the way only fools was built,it is similar to the brilliance when del fell through the bar in 'yuppy love' and then falling through again and again, that didnt happen then but they killed good jokes here, such a letdown.
The episode follows del and rodney as they head to france to honor uncle albert who was invited to a war memorial service, the joke about beards was also overkilled although funny at first, the use of denzel and trigger was well executed and after letting teenage damian speak too much in the first of these final episodes and ruining all his scenes it was refreshing that he was virtually a mute here although the ali g references are garbage.
Goodness as i read this back it seems im slagging this show off to the teeth and i dont wish to do that but honesty must prevail, some great jokes aside this is a bit of a mess, but the final episode followed and quality was more or less restored.
