Synopsis
The official story of England's Euro 2004 qualifying campaign.

From the Back Cover
England’s Path to Portugal is the exclusive account of our national football team's Euro 2004 qualifying campaign. This 2-hour programme contains edited highlights of every match, all the goals, exclusive player and coach interviews, plus, unseen footage following England abroad.

This title relives the full story of a dramatic, roller coaster campaign from an undistinguished start with an embarrassing draw against Macedonia to the joyous victory against Turkey at the Stadium of Light – awarded ‘Match of the Year’ by Four Four Two magazine. This match saw the emergence of a 17-year-old wonder kid Wayne Rooney, who’s full debut performance caused a media furore, enthused a nation and re-ignited hopes of English success in the future.

A place in Euro 2004 was finally clinched after the magnificent performance against Turkey, during the infamous ‘Trip to Hell’.

3.0 out of 5 stars England so / so, 3 Aug 2006
A piece of history as this dvd takes you through the qualifying campaign of the England team to Portugal European championships 2004.
All the games are included, with some back story to the games to which ends up coming across as a documentary rather than a good footie dvd so its quite hard to get into the sprit of some games as the highlights are over before they have begun !!

Average dvd for a true fan or collector

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, 7 Aug 2007
A nice DVD, that includes all the action and back story that you need of the Euro 2004 qualifying campaign. In relation to what the other reviewer said, I understand what is said but I personaly prefer DVD's with a bit of news and back story surrounding the games as when u watch it in 5 years your not going to remember what was happening at the time! If you like backstory and a DVD that will take you back to the time of the campaign then get this!
