5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you!, 4 Oct 2003
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
How obsessed was I with this when I was a kid? I drove my parents to distraction watching it over and over again until they could probably have quoted it, never mind until I could!
When I found a copy on the videos in my local library a few weeks ago I knew that I had to get them out! I had great memories from when I was a kid and just had to watch them again! I approached them with great trepedition, cos lets be honest, the books were fab, and was it possible for these to be anything like as good as I remembered them? Quite simply yes!
I remember the queen in teh Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe used to terrify me, but now I just think that she's wonderful! Rather unfortunately Aslan also used to terrify me, but what can you do? The Prince Caspian ones were great, especially the rat whoes name I now can't remember, (plus I had an utterley huge crush on rince Caspian when these came out!) And when rewatching the Silver Chair I rediscover Tom Baker who I had completely forgotten was even in it!
An added bonus for me was that I had recently visited Hawkstone Park where large parts of Prince Caspian were filmed!!!
Anyway, one with raving, this is absolutely fabulous, and in no way the let down that I have often come to expect with things based on wonderful books! My only problem is that they never made the other three books as well! A must have, whether you remember when these were originally shown or not!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, 2 May 2004
By A Customer
I am surprised that it has taken this long for these classics to hit dvd. I still remember as a child watching these and being amazed at the magical world I saw before me.
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is by far the best out of them all. The storyline is much stronger and it has a much more magical feeling to it. What I find strange is that even now, many years on! I can still remember each scene so well.

Extras DvD
When I heard that an interview with the original cast was to be included I was looking forward to it. I was a little disappointed however to discover that it lasted on 10 minutes. The length aside it was well worth watching.

Overall Points
-All films have been transferred perfectly on to dvd
-There have been some small scenes added to the Lion the witch and the wardrobe if you watch closely.
-The extras

5.0 out of 5 stars must have for fans, 25 Nov 2003
By R. Martin "Zargo" (Ballarat Australia) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I was slightly annoyed and excited at the same time when I discovered it'd been a waste of time buying 'The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe' on DVD because a 4-disk set was on it's way with a special features disc!
So I sold the songle disk on ebay, and looked forward to this release.

All the episodes have been given a pretty good transfer but it was definatly the special features that I was excited about, in particular of course, the reunion interviews.

It's not a very long interview (10 minutes) but of course it's wonderful to see the four pevensie children again (lucy has changed a lot!).
They basically ignore the adventures following 'lion
and the witch', even though al four of them were reunited in 'Prince Caspian' and lucy and edmund were back for 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader.'
Although those two are the weakest until the series goes back to brill with 'Silver Chair' it would have been nice to have heard something about them, the interview's too short!

Of course the dream thing would be to have had them record a commentary or two, but you can't have it all.

The Blue Peter clips are easily the best of the other material on the disk.

Overall, an absolute must-have for fans, and no American production will ever be as good as this great BBC TV series!
