If you are reading this then you have stumbled upon a truly amazing double CD. Please buy and enjoy as it as it is well worth the money. I happened to discover Alkan's music by pure accident and I am glad I did. If you like Chopin, Hummel, and Liszt then you will love Alkan and will be left wondering why you have gone so long without finding his music. There is a symphony for piano and a piano concerto just for piano which is a monstrous work with the 1st movement being nearly 30 mins long.

I spent years studying music and never found Alkan but so glad I have as his music has given me many hours of listening pleasure which I hope many other people can enjoy. Also pianist Roland Smith does an amazing job with what are extremely difficult compositions.
