This is truly an excellent all round image manipulation tool. Designed especially for websites, and website designers it has many advanced tools, slicing and hyperlinking images, creating rollover menus and exporting as HTML. It supports almost all image formats and they can be exported in equally as many.

The software is especially good at intergrating with DreamWeaver MX, and creating web graphics. With a wide range of tools.

The four stars is because to get the most out of this software you should consider buying a manual or refernce book for it. Fireworks is purely an image editor aswell, not a desktop publisher.

I have this, fireworks mx, photoshop 7 and paint shop pro 8.

I really like this attempt by macromedia to break into the graphics industry big time. Yet with this at �200 or something and paintshop pro at just �80 there is no competition. Paintshop pro is cheaper and way better than fireworks, although I prefer the interface of fireworks. At half the price of photoshop this is a good option, but with paintshop pro at half the price of this, you shouldn't need to think twice.
