The new EXILIM EX-S20 and EX-M20 models are 10% smaller than their predecessors with no sacrifice to function, and retain a resolution of 2.0 million effective pixels. A number of added features such as the enhanced movie recording facility of up to 60 seconds, extended battery life of 85% over previous models, and the new scratch resistant acrylic panel monitor (LCD), to name but a few, re-emphasize EXILIM as the perfect partner to take anywhere, anytime.

The EXILIM EX-S20 and EX-M20 are a mere 11.3 mm thick, 83mm wide and 53mm high. Their stylish stainless steel cases resist de-colouration and are finished to a high gloss using CASIO’s ‘Ex Fine Blast Treatment’. Furthermore, a new lens protection cover has been added to help protect the lens from impact and dirt.

Both models incorporate a 1.6" TFT LCD screen with a digital interface, which produces vivid and clear images. Benefiting from CASIO’s original design technology, the cameras also feature a new macro shooting function which allows images to be taken from as little as 30cm away, making the EX-S20 and EX-M20 the first fixed–focus EXILIM models to be equipped with macro capabilities. The ability to record short movies, a major feature of its predecessors, has been improved upon by increasing the length of clips to up to 60 seconds. Due to its built in microphone and speaker, the EX-M20 enables users to capture movies with sound, as well as adding sound clips to individual pictures.

The EX-S20 and EX-M20 also incorporate CASIO’s famous ‘BESTSHOT’ function, enabling users to set-up the camera for pre-defined scenarios. Once a scenarios has been chosen, such as portrait, scenery or night, users can then simply ‘point and shoot’, enabling even novices to capture perfect images every time. Both cameras have an internal memory of 10MB for storing images, this capacity can be increased by inserting a SD or MMC card into the EXILIM’s external memory slot.

If you are looking for a camera that you can take anywhere, for quick fun snaps then this is the one. I have been using the Ex-M20 which has everything you could ever want. Here's its main features:

Its small: One of the thinnest camera's around, and unlike other makes of camera, its lack of size is where it counts. It fits nicely in a trouser or jacket pocket even with the protective case.

Its quick: with no optical zoom its loading time is really quick, that means you can take pictures (without the flash) almost instantly.

Its easy: using the little joystick to navigate the menus and pictures is easy. The camera shifts between the pictures instantly with no loading time.
The charger is great and enables you to charge and download the pictures with no fuss.

Its packed with features: The best shot feature allows you to edit the pictures before you take them to get some really classy and quality effects. The movie mode is brilliant, allowing movies with sound, and the framerate is good. Plus you can record as many 60 second movies as you like. This camera really is packed with features for its size.

Downfalls? This camera has a few, but they are not significant. Here are the small gripes I have:

There is no optical zoom, although you would hardly expect it for a camera this size. There are more expensive models of this camera that have an optical zoom if you really want one but you will be sacrificing a bit of space in your pocket (in both senses of the phrase).

The flash: the flash is a bit weak; very good for close up fun pictures, but you wont be able to illumintae a whole room with it, and so the background tends to go black.

You will need a large memory card if you are using it for music, as with 128mb you can only store about 20 songs. The headphone remote is fantastic, displaying the songtitle, and all with a nice blue backlight.

The software is good, however you might want a better editor to modify the pictures.

The battery life is short if you are using it to play songs. So you might want to consider getting another one.

Overall, this camera really is a quality piece of kit. I have taken it everywhere and got some great pictures with it. The 2 megapixel output looks good, especially at standard photograph size.

If you are thinking about this camera because you want something simple and effective that you can have fun with. Then go for it!
