Dance: UK Game + 8-Way Dance Mat Bundle (PSone)

Dance: UK Game + 8-Way Dance Mat Bundle (PSone)

Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Dance 'til you can dance no more with the fantastic Dance: UK and Eight-way Dance Mat for PSone. With 20 incredible floor-filling tunes and karaoke singalong options to choose from, this is truly the all-singing, all-dancing game experience you've been waiting for.

The Dance: UK range includes the console game (available on PS2 and PSsone), the eight-way dance mat (included), a wireless karaoke microphone and a mini-speaker system. Whether you buy one or all of these products, good times are guaranteed (although be advised that setting it all up can take a few minutes and a bit of patience, as you need to reconnect your console to the TV).

The eight-way dance steps (standard up, down, left, right as well as the four corners) and routines are suitable for all levels. You choose from single player, two-person and eight-player consecutive modes, and there are four progressive difficulty levels to work through. However, absolute beginners may find it challenging--the tutorial mode is basic, and not as comprehensive as Dancing Stage's, so dance mat first-timers may find that starting out with 8 steps is a little daunting. Other features include an aerobic mode and a step recorder allowing you to record, save and dance your own routines.

There's no faulting the selection of dance tracks--whether you're a pop, hip-hop, old skool or R&B fan there's a full-length dance tune with your name on it, including "Round Round" (Sugababes), "Gotta Get Thru This" (Daniel Bedingfield), "One Night Stand" (Mis-Teeq), "It's Like That" (Run DMC featuring Jason Nevins) and "Disco Inferno" (the Trammps--ask mum or dad who they are). --Amber Pring

Product Description

Dance: UK features the largest collection of licensed music ever to appear in a dancing game. Tracks include chart-topping hits from Mis-Teeq, Sugababes, DJ Sammi, Junior Senior and Oliver Cheatham ft Room 5. The game features a range of play modes and three difficulty levels from beginner to expert; the dance routines have been professionally choreographed by graduates from the Royal Academy of Dance and have been designed to exploit the new eight-way dance mat (included) to give a more fluid feel. A revolutionary dance-step indicator allows the player's eyes to focus on a single point rather than relying on peripheral vision.

Competitive head-to-head modes allow players to compete against each other. Two players can battle against each other in a dance-off. Extra points are awarded for accuracy and score multipliers applied for performing certain combinations. An innovative handicap system allows players with two left feet to compete against seasoned groovers. And for the ultimate party experience Dance: UK can be set to a consecutive multiplayer mode in which up to eight players can dance using one or two mats.

As well as the competitive modes, Dance: UK also includes an aerobics mode that allows players to see how much energy they're burning and a Juke Box mode in which any difficulty level and any track can be chosen and practised. With a Dance: UK Wireless Karaoke Microphone, players can sing along with the songs and hear their own voices over the game soundtrack via the TV or separate speakers.

The 85 cm x 95 cm dance mat features 8-way action buttons plus on/off and volume controls for the Dance: UK Wireless Karaoke Microphone. A textured PCV coating top and bottom reduces slip.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADDICTIVE, 21 Oct 2003
By A Customer
LOADS OF FUN, HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, GREAT TUNES AND WHAT A WORKOUT! IT EVEN HAS A CALORIE COUNTER THAT VARIES WITH YOUR OWN WEIGHT AND A KARAOKE FUNCTION WITH THE WORDS ON SCREEN (NOT THAT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO SING AND DANCE AT THE SAME TIME) BUT EVERYONE ELSE IN THE ROOM CAN JOIN IN. IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT GOOD CO-ORDINATION YOU WILL NEVER GET THROUGH THE STAGES. I'VE JUST RECIEVED MINE TODAY, THE EASY LEVEL IS NOT THAT EASY AND I HAVEN'T TRYED THE OTHER 2.THE GRAFIX ON THE DANCERS ISN'T THAT GOOD BUT IT IS A PS1. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW DANCING AWAY AGAIN....YOU DON'T OFTEN SAY THAT ABOUT EXERCISE DO YOU? LOTS OF FUN FOR EVERYONE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you want to see me dancing? Really dancing?, 28 Oct 2003
By A Customer
The dance mat and game are both very good. The songs on the PS1 game are pop and have a good beat to dance to.
The karaoke lyrics only works on a specific section so if you do multi-player one person cant sing along. The calorie counter is a brilliant idea, it makes you feel good about playing computer games.
A downside of the game? The little computer dancer doesn't do the same moves as you. It just prances around. If it did the same steps that I did it would give you a better idea of how silly you look!

4.0 out of 5 stars Dance Master, 28 Oct 2003
This is a really enjoyable game. I actually bought it for my niece for Christmas but thought I better test it out. I spent the whole day playing it! It's a perfect Christmas present as everyone can get involved, either watching (and laughing) or playing. If you have two mats you can do head to head or can even have up to 8 consecutive players. There is a karaoke section and also auditions. I quite liked the calorie counter; I did 70 calories in one 3 minute song. It's enjoyable and doesn't feel like exercise at all. There are some good songs on here but some other less known songs too. Even if you are uncoordinated and ungraceful like me, you can't go wrong with this game!
