Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Dance 'til you can dance no more with the fantastic Dance: UK for PSone. With 20 incredible floor-filling tunes and karaoke sing-along options to choose from this is truly the all-singing, all-dancing game experience you've been waiting for.

The Dance: UK range also includes the eight-way dance mat, a wireless karaoke microphone and a mini-speaker system. Whether you buy one or all of these products, good times are guaranteed (although be advised that setting it all up can take a few minutes and a bit of patience, as you need to reconnect your console to the TV).

The game is best played with the Dance:UK eight-way dance mat, although it is compatible with all dance mats. The dance steps (standard up, down, left and right, plus, if you have an eight-way mat, the four corners) and routines are suitable for all levels. You choose from single player, two-person and eight-player consecutive modes, and there are four progressive difficulty levels to work through. However, absolute beginners may find it challenging--the tutorial mode is basic, and not as comprehensive as Dancing Stage's, so dance mat first-timers may find that starting out with eight steps is a little daunting. Other features include an aerobic mode and a step recorder allowing you to record, save and dance your own routines.

There's no faulting the selection of dance tracks—whether you're a pop, hip-hop, old skool or R&B fan there's a full-length dance tune with your name on it, including "Round Round" (Sugababes), "Gotta Get Thru This" (Daniel Bedingfield), "One Night Stand" (Mis-Teeq), "It's Like That" (Run DMC featuring Jason Nevins) and "Disco Inferno" (the Trammps--ask mum or dad who they are). --Amber Pring

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!, 29 Feb 2004
By Summer (birmingham united kingdom) - See all my reviews

Most of the other reviews say that dance uk isnt very good but i think its excellent. The songs r much better than the ones on the konami games. There is the cheekygirls, westlife, sclub, sugababes and lots of other great songs.Theres 8 modes aerobics, training, multiplayer, dance uk mode, karaoke(where the words 2 the song come up at the bottom of the screen so u can sing along) and a few other modes. On the dance uk mode u go through lots of auditions, each in a different tv studio and u pick between a few songs on each audition.u can do it on easy, medium or hard,on easy it is just normal arows but on medium and hard ther r diagonal ones as well.I wouldnt recomend dance uk if its ur first time on a dance mat as it is quite hard if u r not used to playing on 1. But i think it is a very good game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed (...), 23 Oct 2003
By Ms. J. Prescod (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This game is not for beginners, I found that even trying the "basic" level was really difficult. The training session is very basic and not helpful at all you could start the game without doing the training session and be no worse off. After my experience with the Konami dance games (their training session is excellent) I had high expectations for this one, but was greatly disappointed. If you are looking for a first game this is not the one to get. I would stick to one of the Konami ones. Big Ben tout the new system of step selection as a selling point, the arrows instead of floating up from the bottom of your screen come from the middle, but I found it distracting rather than helpful. Also the build quality of their dance mat is not a patch on the Logic 3 one. I found the layers very slippy against each other which makes for a very scary ride. This really needs to be revisited.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dance UK goes for a burden., 28 Oct 2003
I was disapointed with DanceUK, whereas with the Konami games, the arrows rise from the bottom, but on this they come from the middle, and it's very difficult to focus. Also, the Basic level of a dance is really hard, so it's not good for first time dancers. And their dance mat hasn't been constructed very well, they're slippy and it's dangerous wearing socks. Maybe I'm picky, but the makers need to re-think there mistakes and put them right, should they bring another version.
