Three Days is a feature film exploring the on-and-off tour lives of Jane’s Addiction. Set predominantly on their 1997 "Relapse" tour, this docu-drama weaves audiences throughout the band’s legacy in a colourful, fast-paced orgy of gritty backstage drama and rare musical performances. There are rare cameo snippets from artists such as Val Kilmer, Goldie, Ken Kesey, the Merry Pranksters, and the Playboy Bunnies lend testament to the frantic world that is Jane’s Addiction. Mix in the real-life drama that unfolds when a band reunites for the first time in six years, travels on the road, and is scrutinized every step of the way by pop media and fans, and the results are undoubtedly that of mind-altering entertainment. This release follows Jane's Adiction back on the road in 1997 for the first time since they split six years earlier. Three of the original members have returned with the exception being bass player Eric Avery, so his place is filled by Red Hot Chilli Pepper bass player Flea.

Of course the stars of the show are going to be front man Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. Drummer Stephen Perkins gets to make an odd appearnce while Flea is fairly non existint. You do get to see the ramblings of Farrell and Navarro and theres no doubt that theres some big egos here which would explain the short lived reunion.

But what you will really come back for is the live performances which are electric and show why Jane's are one of the most vital bands to come along in the last 20 years. The performances are not in their enteriety but give enough of an indication of what a Jane's show is all about. Ted, just admit it is an awesome performance while the brilliant Three Days is just plain epic.

Theres also 40 minutes of extra footage that didnt make the final cut. But its the live scenes which you will keep coming back to.

i think this really encapsulates Janes Addiction in their true form. Perry is on fire and shows just how good a front man he is. The years certainly havent erroded Janes Addiction as far as im concerned. A moment in time is captured here and having been there at the time I think this is a true reflection of the true energy they exuded. A must (and why not)

For all new bands out there; THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT! These guys are so on top of their game you just get swept along.
This 'movie' is based on a fairly daft concept (is Navarro actually talking to anyone on that phone or is it just an elaborate faux interview? Hmm) but it never gets on top of you the way the music does. That's in a good way, naturally!
Three Days is really interesting because it does it's best to portray everything that goes on during a tour like this. Of course, at certain points it just shies away which is a cop out. Also, the songs are NOT shown in their entirety, which at first jarred with me but actually really works in relation to the other directorial decisions.
I wont repeat what the other reviewers already touched on, they're all right about it; this is great to watch, either on your own or in company because there are so many talking points to be raised! I got this DVD four months ago and I've watched it about 5 or 6 times which really is quite a lot considering any given movie only gets chucked on about twice a year if it's lucky!
