Indeed, Gilbert and Sullivan opera companies are prevalent the world over, each giving their own interpretation on the lyrics of Gilbert and the music of Sullivan. It's not very easy to sing along with operetta, it's really not.

A few of us tried 'I am the very model of a modern major general' and collapsed laughing soon after we had begun. It's the sort of thing one tries at Christmas and then puts away again.

I'd leave it to the professionals if I was you
