Initially this remix (or re-intrepretation) album sounded really promising, the opening MBM/DHS track "Cease To Exist" includes vocoder elements of several of the original album's tracks, but effectively is a new MBM track. The next remix of God OD is also very creative, if a little stop-start, including vocal loops to remind you how good the originals were! But things are very inconsistent on this set - where the originals had real raw energy and excitement the majority of these reworks have replaced this with something far less exhilarating - which is a real pity (and a wasted opportunity). For some reason most mixes are either versions of God OD or of a track that didn't actually exist (Storm the Studio), in which case it's some take on God OD but with the STS vocal sample used instead of any lyrics. There is only one version of I Got The Fear (which is a strong revamp) and none that credit StrapDown atall - although elements of the track are heard in some of the so-called mixes of STS, so presumably these are often more a 'medley remix' rather than one track. All in all it has some high points, but not enough Dangers lyrics or consistency to outshine the originals. Get the original as reissued on CD first (it's newly remastered) if you want to get the adrenaline pumping - then get this if you want something more chilled-out and derivative!

a very famous remixer once stated how if he didn't like a song he would just give the band one of his own tracks. since i'm not overly fond of remixes myself (even though mr dangers is one of the better exponents), this probably reflects my own opinion

is this album an act of praise?? if so, its a very poor one with only norsq and the jungle remix (can't remember who its by) emerging from the torpor. i've got a lot of time for mbm, but its hard to see what the point of this is - seems to a casual observer like self-indulgent crap.

not so much a storm as drizzle
