5.0 out of 5 stars Rubinstein at his best!, 8 April 2008
By Scriabinmahler (UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)

Recorded live in 1963 at the hight of his artistic maturity, Rubinstein gives incredibly vivid and graceful performance of Emperor Concerto. Philharmonia Orchestra under Ormandy gives strong and warmly expressive support. Stereo recording.

Solo piano works are recorded in 1958, pretty good mono. Schubert Impromptus are played with sublime simplicity. Chopin's C sharp m etude is just breath takingly brilliant.
