5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent easy to use machine, great design, nice coffee, 12 Sep 2007
By James O'Toole (UK) - See all my reviews

To get an espresso with a good even crema, warm the machine up first (including the coffee holder) by putting some boiling water through. Add finely ground coffee, tamping it down well. Fill the machine with more boiling water than you actually need, before squeezing a small amount through. If you only use a small amount of water the machine doesn't develop enough pressure for a proper espresso.

5.0 out of 5 stars I carry this in my luggage, 20 April 2007
By SARAH MCCARTNEY (London, England, UK.) - See all my reviews

Everyone who's had a cup of my Presso coffee has wanted one of these machines. (I wonder if Kitchen and Home fan below works for a rival manufacturer?). When I visit my mum in Newcastle I pack it in my suitcase. I've had it for over two years and have used it at least once a day. I keep my beans in the freezer (brought them back from Venezuela) and grind them to the finest point on the Dualit machine, and I get an expresso as good as anyone's. Plus the only energy used is a tiny bit to heat the water; the rest is arm power. No silly plastic pots of coffee to go into landfill. This is an eco-coffee fan's delight.
Discontinued? I do hope not!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant, 4 Jun 2008
By Mrs. Jenny Titford (Essex, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I was researching ways to make good coffee for weeks and found this while looking for a certain brand of espresso coffee beans. I was taken with the idea of its simplicity and portability (and cost) so decided to go for it. Moments after taking it out of its box I had produced an excellent cup of espresso that impressed my husband so much, we made another, frothed some warm milk, and hey presto - cappuccino! An hour later - we had to have another! Then my daughter came round - a good excuse to show off and she said it was every bit as good as the expensive coffee shop in her town. It's a big hit. We will be drinking a lot more coffee now. By the way, I did grind my own beans which will make a profound difference to taste and if you read a review elsewhere that is less than complimentary, please note that the coffee you buy will influence things. This gadget is brilliant and deserves a full five star rating.
