4.0 out of 5 stars Bright and Light, 11 Nov 2003
By A Customer
This was my birthday present from my wife and children and my first mobile phone. I knew I needed one - for reasons I won't bore you with - I let this be known in unsubtle ways and waited for the birthday suprise. It turned out to be the C350. The first thing that strikes you is the size. The second the weight. It small, light and, when you switch it on, bright and colourful - important when trying to ring home in the dark I now discover. The layout and screen make it easy to navigate to those 'onscreen' places you have to get to in order to get the most from your phone. I had most things figured out within about 30 minutes, including sending my first text message. Overall, I am very satisfied with my little C350 with one reservation. When I switch it on, a loud, bouncy Motorola Logo appears complete with cartoon graphics. I would love to switch it off permanently as it is very annoying (and a tad embaressing in crowded places) but despite my best efforts and several reads of the operational guide, they appear not to tell you how to do this. I guess I will just have to accept a bad that comes with the good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good phone but very bad software, 21 Dec 2003
I have been using this phone for a couple month now and I have come to a conclusion that it could have been great, but its not due some very minor but quite obvious problems. In general I like the style of the phone. Very trendy, and nice to play with. This phone has many standard features packed into it, but in this category the most important thing to do with it is either having a conversation or texting. The first is ok, with relatively good reception. But texting is a pain. And I mean true pain. Here are the problems I have seen so far:

1 - You can only have up to 15 texts in your inbox or in the draft or in the outbox separately. This means you can’t share memory. This is quite bad as you have to continuously delete the texts to receive more, even if you have plenty of memory elsewhere.
2 - If you are in the middle of texting and accidentally press the on key, all the text is lost. Gone, for ever! Very annoying.
3 - If you are in the middle of a text, and somebody texts you, you might loose what you have types already. Even more annoying.
4 - If you loose reception, you loose the text you have type too. This is truly shocking, imagine being in a train and typing a text, only two more words to finish off the 5 pages of text and then the train goes into a tunnel and the passengers hear someone scream .....

There are also other minor issues with the software as well, but since I dont use ceratin features as much they are not that bad. These problems are all possible to fix with proper software development. So as a relatively new phone, which should have been tested to death in QA, its almost unacceptable to have such bugs in the final phone.

Overall not bad, but not good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit., 25 Feb 2004
By A Customer
This phone is great, not sure what everyone on this review are moaning at.
I recieved this phone for Christmas and it has been one of my more favourible gifts with its easy menu access, along with the other facilities great phones like this has.
The size immediatly struck me as it was small enough to easily fit inside my trouser pocket. The snappy design also struck my attention.
In my opinion a worthy buy for a phone round the £50 mark.
Go buy it.
