5.0 out of 5 stars Wishy Washy Brilliant Wishing, 14 Jan 2005
If you were into Japan, David Sylvian or Mick Karn then buy this. If you have never heard of them then buy this!

This isn't a dance album or even sonic wallpaper; it demands your full attention and rewards you with a sublime yet energetic musical masterpiece. Turn it up loud and wobble you're your speakers with enormous, tightly controlled bass and let the sublime melodies soak in.

Mick Karn, the Worlds most respected bass player deploys his trademark fretless whale like WAL bass accompanied by woodwind, drums and intriguing samples. In my view this IS Mick Karn's finest album to date.

If you appreciate the more creative and experimental artists such as Siouxsie Sioux, Bjork and Kate Bush then you will appreciate this.

It needs time to grow on you; it captures you and then never lets you go.

3.0 out of 5 stars Different but not better, 8 May 2004
I really enjoyed Mick Karn's first post-Japan albums ("Titles" and "Dreams of Reason Produce Monsters") as well as some his later funk/jazz fusion stuff with David Torn and others. This albums starts off as quite an upbeat affair, with an ethno-funk feel but then descends into ambient meandering bouyed up by Karn's trademark fretless bass. The best track is "The Show" which features some glitch-y electronics and some excellent guitar work. Not Karn's best work and I'd advise you to look elsewhere if you want to get into his music (either the albums I've mentioned above or "The Mick Karn Collector's Edition") but if you like Mick Karn already then this is still worth a listen
