Belleville Rendez Vous CD - mais c'est Very Good n'est pas?, 26 Oct 2003

you'd have to have no sense of humour at all not to think this CD was fantastique.If you liked the cartoon film (and frankly who wouldn't) you'll find the music on this cd adds to the memory as well as being a fine and funny record of music that you'll find yourself playing over and over again. Especially good is the 'Barber' track which achieves new depths of musical greatness and fresh heights of tonal stupidity. The theme tune gets into your brain and you will find yourself singing with the Triplets from Belleville even though you will have no clue (even if you are french, or especially if you are french) what the good ladies are saying, let alone playing. The music is excellent and a fine way of extracting the Michel out of le Jazz. The film is good. This CD of music from the soundtrack is just as good and I am pleased I bought it. I find it cheers you up to listen to it and you can't expect more than that. Buy Buy Buy! or Achete! Achete! Achete! as I think the French say(although I failed 'o' level french)
