1.0 out of 5 stars Risk- What a let down!, 8 Sep 2004
I had looked forward to buying this game as I had enjoyed playing the previous PS1 game. I expected a big improvement graphically and also on the gameplay as the PS1 version had flawed AI. Upon playing the PS2 version I noticed an improvement on the graphics and sounds, but unfortunately that is where the improvements finish. For starters only 1 map to play no variations at all besides a couple of colour changes. This in itself makes the game very tiresome. The AI is not much better as in the PS1 version increasing the difficulty means the dice seem to be loaded against you. I knew I was buying a board game but didnt expect to be a bored gamer! I shall continue playing the PS1 version as even with its flawed AI it is nearer to the real thing than this version which I will be taking back for part ex on something better. How can other customers write reviews on games they have clearly not played? is it possible to wait until the game has been released before handing out a five star rating? before my review only 1 other reviewer had actually played the game thus giving the game an incorrect star rating. Keep it real!

1.0 out of 5 stars Risk 2 should have been better, 29 Jul 2004
By A Customer
I pre-ordered this game sadly upon playing the game I discovered it was Risk the boardgame on a game platform. Even the orignal version had more than one small map and the thrill was gone. All very pretty graphics and fine if you want only to play the boardgame on a game platform. However I was looking for more maps than just colour changing background. This has made this game tedious. Where is the flair.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not all bad, you know!, 23 Mar 2007

Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Come on you guys! Risk on the PS2 could have perhaps been a little better, but it could have been alot worse. If one doesn't compare the PS2 version with the actual board game and regards it in its own right it is a pretty good turn based game. I've spent many hours with friends attempting to dominate the world and a good time has been had by all. Granted, the AI does seem a little lacking, but all in all, the graphics, annimation, sound, Sean Connery sound-alike, and the various changes to gameplay one can make combine to make it a well rounded board game adaptation.

I love the board game so the chance to have a PS2 version would not slip me by. The AI is a bit wonky in places and I think most games that rely on a computer throwing the dice... Read more
