Product Description

Product Description

The Hobbit is a third-person action/adventure game set in the world of Middle-earth. In the game, you take the persona of Bilbo Baggins, an unassuming Hobbit who has been unwittingly thrust into an epic adventure. Explore the mystical world of Middle-earth where you'll need to jump gaping chasms, climb treacherous mountains, solve mind bending puzzles and battle hordes of enemies just to survive. Meet enchanting Elves, battle-ready Dwarves, a powerful Wizard, massive Trolls, bloodthirsty Goblins, and more as you traverse from the peaceful lands of the Shire to the harrowing forests of Mirkwood. And that's just the beginning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great ti be Bilbo, 31 Jan 2004
By D. Swann "swannie" (Kent UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is one of the best games I have played for a while. The graphics are bright and colourful, it follows (mostly) the story of the book and the gameplay is varied. You have to collect things, solve puzzles use stealth and fight your way past various bad guys ( the spiders ! the spiders! ) Each level is skightly different in what you need to do. The first is very easy but don't be fooled this is just a way of getting you into the game. It can be really frustrating at times as you disappear under a pile of goblins or die from spider venom but frequent save positions and retirn to the last one helps - as does the online forum at the Sierra site.

Criticisms ? A vew. The controls rake getting used to and some people might find the frequent hints offputting. It is not perhaps for diehard gamers but it is great fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars welcome to middle earth, 29 Jan 2004
having read the current reviews i felt i had to put my words down . Firstly remember this is a game for children and so it provides enough challenge for the average child . i mainly play rpg games so my way of thinking would make this very short but my 2 children ( 7 yrs and 12 yrs ) enjoy it . it covers 2 important things a introduction to rpg games and more important it raises a childs interest into middle earth and the works of tolkien .

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game but needs more killer..., 12 Jan 2004
The graphics are ace and the characters voices are good too, making you feel like you are actually in Middle Earth. The game is very short but it is good while it lasts, it is a game for kids and it is cartoony. It has some funny sequences in it and you can expect to feel quite dissapointed when it ends prematurely. I feel a bit cheated because they just could have put more into this version then they wouldnt have to release a sequel. Worth buying if you don't mind the fact that it will only last you a couple of hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Hobbit, PC Game
A game created long before the lotr films came out, based purely on descriptions from the book. Playing as Bilbo travelling through the word of Tolkin. A ok game.
