Action Replay Max is the world's first broadband-compatible PS2 cheat code system, using lightning-fast PS2 broadband code updates so you never again need to enter another code manually. To use Max's online features you'll need a broadband connection and network adapter--but if you don't have broadband you can still enter new codes manually.

Max's user interface has been completely revamped and it's preloaded with over 30,000 of the latest and greatest PS2 codes, including codes that make some games even tougher to play--great for extending the lifespan of completed games in your collection.

Max also includes the DVD Region X software, which allows you to watch DVDs from any region, plus Memory Manager software which lets you fit up to 10 times the normal amount of data onto your memory card.

This is shaping up to be the best cheat code system ever. Its the first "game enhancer" that downloads new codes using your PS2 network adapter (you have to have broadband of course), which means you don't have to enter in lines of codes using your Dual Shock like before (though you can still do that if you don't have broadband, or I can recommend using X-Port or Powerboard). Plus you can also download the latest game saves, unlocking levels and characters, d/loading new levels, replays and updated team rosters for sports games.

The broadband feature alone is worth the admission price, but the interface is also very nice with a lot of attention given to the graphics. Rare for this type of product, but no doubt making it even more fun to use.

What else? You can also play DVD films from any region round the world on your PS2, it also gets rid of green screen if you use scart or rgb. Then there's a feature to "crush" your memory card saves to make them smaller and take up less space on your PS2 memory card.

MAX has 30000 cheats already pre-loaded, the perfect solution for anyone whose ever get stuck on a PS2 game.

The AR Max v3.30 has a fatal flaw, it is unable to load user settings and manually input codes. The pre-installed cheats are great and they work really well, but when you want to use a code which you have installed once already you have to go through the whole thing again, which is slightly frustrating by the tenth time!
If it wasn't for this one thing it could be a good product, so if you're thinking of buying this, think twice. Don't expect any help from Datel's customer service on this product, they have received numurous e-mails from several customers having this problem and we're still waiting for replies on the matter.

I have previously used AR v2, which worked fine, and I was very happy with it (especially with use on GTA VC). Of course, they no longer support the v2 for new games.

However, the AR Max I was sent a few weeks ago does NOT work with my PS2.
On startup, it will not load any setting/user codes from my (official Sony & almost empty) memory cards.
Obviously this makes it impossible to save any new codes, which renders the AR Max absolutely pointless!!
So, before buying be strongly advised that this is not (yet) a flawless product.
