brilliant strategy game, yet lacks something, 19 Oct 2003
Being a fan of strategy games myself, I enjoy a challenge from time to time, and freedom fighters throws more than the odd curve ball at you. taking control of up to 12 characters within a free roaming shoot em up is not only a novel idea, it is captured as it should be, well! youll often find yourself risking life and limb for your fellow freedom fighters, with its gripping storyline and better than average graphics. The game does lack in one area though, unless you play it on at least hard, youll have finished it within 2-3 days. this isn't an outright problem for the game, just hampers its longlivity. the multiplayer is fun at times, especially with 3 friends (provided you have that many!) but with only 3 different levels to choose from, and a limited weaponry, it can become tedious and tiring. The storyline levels are fantastic though. throw yourself into the world of russian dictators and global domination as you prepare to fight for everything. each level is a reward in itself, especially raising your charisma so you can recruit more troops. each level is totally different, never asking you to do the same thing twice, and each level can be done in anyway you wish opening up the possibilities. do you storm the base first, or sabotage the attack helicopters landing pads? well worth its money, a game youlll get a hankering to play six months after youve finished it. command & conquer meets nightfire, with a dash of destruction. thoroughly enjoyable, yet lacks something! Long live the resistance;)

why dose no one buy this?, 24 Feb 2004
ok so the solviets have taken new your and you a former plumber are the resistance. so the story line is unlikly but the game play is unbeatible. Starting off the first level will contain 3 areas now you have to do sertan tasks in some areas so you can progress in other areas, if you dont know what im talking about let me explane. in one area there might be helecopters and it will be impossible to pass over a bridge because of the awsome helecopter fire so go back to your base in the sewer select the area with the helecopter landing pad and go blow it up from then on the helecopters are no more and there are loads more tasks like this. also the more missions you compleat the more confident people are in you so you can take more troops with you and also command them, for instance if you need to over take a solviet blockade hang back and sent the troops in first then when they have killed a few people then you can procede. some of the level designs are quite genius like a level when you have to over take the tv station and a level where you need to take over a movie theater because they are holding prisoners there. the only down side to this game is that it dosent last too long it took me about five days of hard playing but then again i wanted to play it again and if you compleate it on the hardest setting you unlock a new level Liberty island. wicked game buy now and you wont be dissapointed.

Make the next one bigger please, 29 Nov 2003
E.A continue curning out impressive games every month, but this is probably one of the best they ever made. Better than MOH, almost certainly better than FIFA(buy pro evo you fools!!). Never been a fan of EA games but this is perfectly balanced in differculty, as soon as you know what your up to the levels play amazingly. You control your squad with simple commands, which are perfectly suited to the cube pad. The graphics are cracking and its a genuinely fun game to play(wow, no frustration at all). Only dissapointment comes from their being not enough to it, i completed it on easy+normal, within about 4 days. One for people who trade games after use because its simply not big enough, but as i said, what there is, is fantastic.
