IS HONG KONG TRYING TO BE HOOLYWOOD JR????, 6 Jan 2004
Girls are getting kidnapped around the world the girls are aged 12/13 and excell in sports or dancing, the evil mastermind behind these abductions is Madem M (Almen Wong) who plans to train these girls into professional killers. When all these abductions are happening CIA agent Jack (Daniel Wu) who is new to the job is following the abductions and the sinister Madem M. Jacks partners are killed and Jack takes the case on himself minwhile Madem M trains up the girls in very ruthless ways and only three of the girs survive Charlene(maggie Q), Katt(Anya) and Jill (Jewel Lee). The Cia and Jack follow a case of assassinations happening around the world code named CHINA DOLLS. Are the CHINA DOLLS and Madem M connected...The film is very good but its FILMED IN ENGLISH and its a Hong Kong film (very strange) so i think that its been made for the rest of the world and not Hong Kong in mind. If you like the action of the Matrix you will like this film and its all women fighting with guns and stuff. Its highly enjoyable but ther is better hong kong action films.

GREAT!!!!!, 2 Oct 2003
Naked Weapon is a pretty recent movie from Hong Kong, starring Maggie Q, Anya Wu, Daniel Wu, Almen Wong, Andrew Lin and kung-fru fighting newcomer, Jewel Lee. Naked Weapon is a GREAT action movie. It was choreographed by Tony Ching Siu Tung, and it combines wire-fu, gun-fu and vast amounts of kung-fu, slo-mo, speed ups and blood. It starts off well, and keeps up a good pace throughout. It, very unusually, wasn't too popular in Hong Kong, but I hear it had a good review in britain. The script isn't too bad, unlike many internet reviews have objected too, the story is good, but the action is MIND BLOWING! I loked The Matrix, but this is even better! If you like cat-fights, there's quite a few in here! All in all, a fantastic, fantastic action movie! And, unlike many movies written by Wong Jing, there is hardly any nudity! It contains love scenes that would be sutible for a 15. i highly recommend it. And the extras are just as good in this well-worth it DOUBLE DVD Platinum Edition set! BUY IT!!!!!

Don't let the title fool you!!!, 29 Sep 2004
The title may suggest that you would want to hide the order reciept from the missus/parents/granny, but fear not, this film is not what you may think. Yes, there is nudity, but this is because it is an important component to use if you are a female assassin trying to render a male target weak at the knees! This is the weakest 18 certificate film I have seen, it could easily be a 15 or, without the nudity, a 12A. It does have violence, but it is well crafted and intelligently done (and hey, it is a Hong Kong beat-em-up, well, kinda). The star of the show is Vietnames/American model come actress Maggie Q (aka Maggie Quigley), who is, to be blunt, stunning. Think Rachel Stevens with a bit of Chiaki Kuriyama and perhaps a bit of Tia Carrara. And, unlike certain other models who have crossed the media gulf into acting, she is believable; playing an exploited assassin with a heart. The action is sublime, the comedic scenes an unexpected joy, the plot comprehensible and the locations stunning. The use of English language being the primary vocals is also an unexpected joy. One small complaint would be the script. It is a little cliched, and is it me, or are Hong Kong movie male characters not allowed an 'inner monologue'!?! The hero of the film seems to drift off into daydreams in this, with amusing regularity. I loved this film. Glad I bought it at this fine website. p.s. watch the teaser trailers after you have divulged into this movie (on the bonus disc) and see if they would have enticed you into buying it, or were they aiming at a slightly more single-minded target audience!!!? ENJOY!
