Having heard a snippet from this on radio 3 I thought I'd try out the whole opera... and was pleasantly surpised! I was not a great Meyerbeer fan, but after hearing this really very good recording, I shall explore more. It's a delightful opera, well cast, with superb recording quality, and some great moments... some exquisite solos and rousing choruses... definitely worth having in your collection.
