5.0 out of 5 stars return to the enchanting world of fraggles, 7 April 2004

I imagine that if you're reading this it's probably because you're a fan of Fraggle Rock already, so I don't need to tell you what it's about...just what's on the dvd. This two disk set has twelve classic episodes as well as a documentary (around three quaters of an hour long itself) presented by the late, great Jim Henson taking us into the workings behind the show. The dvd in total is just over five hours long...hmmm is this enough for Fraggle fans?...
A wonderful set for Muppet fans and those just reviving their childhood memories.
To those of you new to Fraggle Rock this show will enchant you with it's magical world of the loveable creatures who sing and dance at the drop of a hat. What are you waiting for, this is an all time classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic TV, 2 Jun 2006

Fraggle rock! About time too. You cannot beat the Fraggles. The show had an innocence and genuine humour not found in half of the programmes aimed at kids today. Worth buying for your own memories and to share with your own kids, so they can appreciate some real talent and fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars DOWN AT FRAGGLE ROCK IS WHERE IT'S AT!!, 24 May 2004
I would like to think that today's kids would understand the appeal of this classic TV series. I fear, however, that the humour and old-fashioned looking muppetry may be lost on them. If this is so and they prefer Barney, Teletubbies and Fimbles then they are sorely missing out in a way that just cannot be explained. I remember this as one of the funniest children's TV programmes of the day and certainly the best of the Muppet-based shows. I would even go so far to say it is better than The Muppets, just for the sheer hilarity I found as a kid and still do today.

It is worth noting though that the picture is unacceptably poor. Granted it is 20years old but the picture is very grainy and could have been cleaned up to make it sharper. A minor quibble, but it only matters more because it would have been nice to see Fraggle Rock given the DVD treatment it deserves. Just rewind back to the days when VHS was all the rage and you'll be more than happy.
