    Tomtom are a dutch outfit who make PDA centric SatNav software and supporting hardware, TomTom II is the latest incarnation of the product and it wipes the floor with manufacturer supplied SatNav.

    Its simple to use touch screen interface beats fiddling with the Knobs on your stereo come satnav that a car dealer will want £1500 extra for!

    It is very reliable and you can even live with the lack of postcode support which tomtom blame on the wacky UK postcode system, apparently its not logical (now i can believe that).

    The recent upgrades (available from tomtom.nl) add new features like one button route re calculation to avoid traffic jams, you can also add POI points of interest databases which can be anything from petrol stations to speed cameras.
    Tomtom can also interface with trafcam software to double as a speedcamera warning system.

    I can whole heartedly recommend this package and at a fifth of the price of a BMW / VW / Merc / Ford system you can't go wrong, if you have a PDA what are you waiting for?

    I have used Tom Tom for about 2 months now, with the manufacturer's car kit for an O2 XDA. The GPS has been faultless, worked out of the box first time. My only reservations would be that the street name coverage seems to be a little less than comprehensive - about 10% of the streets I have searched for do not seem to be in the UK database, and that you cannot search on a post code. I do not know if it is any better or worse than other systems in this respect. I have added a freeware set of speed camera locations which is useful. All in all a cheap and effective way of getting GPS and a car kit together for an XDA phone, or GPS and a car charger for other PDAs.
