its been some years since Duglas T. Stewart released a full album of songs. its clear that whatever else his been up to he hasn't forgotten to write a classic song. this album is packed with them.
it's hard to pick out a single track but if pressed i'd have to go with the title track, a great pop song as the title might suggest but with very dark lyrics.
it was my album of last year and one i regularly go back to. if you liked any of the bandits previous albums GET THIS ONE NOW if not this is as good a place as any to start BUY IT and thank me.

I got this through from amazon the next day it was out top class delivery as usual and i love the album its so amazing.Im a big bmx bandits fan and this album is a great return from the lads after a long break and they have came back with some fresh great new songs that really make you feel good about the world.Its also good to know there is some hope for the music scene with bands like this around that know how to make good meaningful music that can cheer you up and bring warmth into your soul.The tracks are all great but my personal favourite include 'Death & Destruction' which isn't at all what the title suggests also 'love at the hop' is a great tune but the whole album is great not a bad moment on there and you need to get this album to see what im talking about you won't regret it im sure of that.

The BMX BANDITS influence on the Scottish music scene has flavoured a lot of the nation's best alternative sounds from Teenage Fanclub to Belle & Sebastian for almost 2 decades now. After a 7 year break this album could, surprizingly perhaps, be their best set yet. With tracks like The Road of Love and Death & Destruction they bring back their old familiar sound in a way that won't disappoint their older fans but on most everywhere else they are making a new version of BMX Bandits pop. Lush strings are replaced with squelchy synths and the lyrical themes are more diverse and strange than before. Lead Bandit Duglas' Brian Wilson obsession is obvious but never takes away from the fact this is a group with a unique voice and vision all of their own. This album is full of beautiful melodies (Back in Your Arms, Love at the Hop), fun (Little Kitty, I'm in Such Great Shape) and pathos (Silly Boy, The End of Time). The Serge Gainsbourg influenced sees the Bandits exploring new musical territory for them and it is just one of the many golden moments on this very welcome return.
