I'm very happy with this product, and I've recommended this device to several friends/relations now.

It's a very fully featured device for the price and the most user friendly consumer product I've seen in a long while. The on screen menus are very well thought out and it has a wonderful auto install feature that tunes in the video and sets the clock. It even corrected itself when the clocks changed, how good is that!

I don't think I ever opened the manual.

As for it being multi-region, while it's not delivered in that state I had it "fixed" within 10 minutes of unpacking it. Put the product code into google and you'll find what you're looking for. It's a simple matter of pressing a few buttons on the remote and that's that.

It's very easy to operate. It comes with a good manual and most features are accessible on screen. It's easy to program and it checks the remaining tape length for a program recording.
The downside is that the recorded tapes give a weird image and I'm sure it's nothing to do with the tape. There's some noise over the recorded image and the machine also makes some noise while playing the tape, so you're very aware you're watching a recording.

We've had it for a year now and it had to be cleaned. A cleaning cassette did the work, but funny enough, the manual, which is otherwise quite good, said little about how to clean the machine or when cleaning would be the solution to a problem.

The remote control is a bit of a mystery sometimes, there are buttons on it that I still don't know what they are for, and then there are some buttons missing, like switch to previous program.

Installing the machine is a synch, though. It does most of the work itself, you just sit and watch. That really is a good thing.

I have just bought this player and it does not play different regions as advertised i am deeply dissapointed with amazon but otherwise its good.
