Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Sir Paul's live performances are actually improving as he gets older, which makes Paul is Live--a document from his tours of the early 1990s--arguably better than his 70s dates, but not up to the level of his triumphant new millennium concerts. However, this is a Beatle we're talking about, and how bad can it be to hear immortals such as "Drive My Car", "We Can Work it Out" and "Here, There and Everywhere" sung by one of their creators? The problem is the newer stuff. Credit to McCartney and band (including then-wife Linda, guitarist Robbie MacIntosh, and guitarist-singer Hamish Stuart from the Average White Band) for refusing to merely wallow in nostalgia. But tunes such as "Biker Like an Icon" and "Peace in the Neighbourhood" are no great shakes any time; placed side by side with "Hey Jude" and "Yesterday", they fare even less well. --Sam Graham

3.0 out of 5 stars Off the Ground?, 21 Jan 2004
By A Customer
This shows McCartney in concert back in the early 90's, as always McCartney is a fantastic live performer however this dvd doesn't have quite the same impact as Back in the US, it includes a lot of music from his Off the Ground album, which is a shame, if it had been Flaming Pie this would have been 5 stars easy. Nevertheless, worth buying for the outstanding performance of Live and Let Die alone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly Awful, 3 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Despite some of the greatest music ever written this film is truly unwatchable. Who on earth wants to watch a concert film which keeps switching to graining black and white for no reason? I hope no one ever entrusted the director with making a concert film ever again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Astonishing and moving, 11 Mar 2007
By Morgan (Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This is an absolutely excellent live music DVD, one of Mackas finest! There are songs in here never been performed live before which deserved to be. Underrated songs like 'magical mystery tour' and 'peace in the neighbourhood' a lovely moving tune. Also it shows some fottage at the end of the DVD which is both very sad but moving, the bits with him and Linda and their children and a video of the song 'Bluebird' and footage of animals being killed which is so so so very sad whilst having songs in the background and footage of Paul with greenpeace protesting etc. An excellent Music DVD, i recommend it to you! Well worth the money and it is very cheap.
