DBZ films, 15 Dec 2003
Right hi all DB/DBZ/GT fans just to tell you all the films that come out now to do with dbz are well worth getting its going to be a long time before they bring them all out (if they do) there are 13 films in total all very good,let me start off by saying yes these films are dbz with all the things you would come to expect from it but the films follow there own story line you will see this when they all get brought out,its like the series has it own story line and they way things happen but the films do not follow it like the series does,the films use the dbz story line and add to it witch is cool :) if you do not understand what i mean you will when you whatch all the films and compare to the way things happen on the films to what time thing happen on the series. thx for your time and have fun with these great films

Dragon Ball Z - Super Battle In The World, 16 Sep 2003
This movie occurs before Dragonball Z begins, probably a year before Raditz arrived.Here's the basic story. A power-hungry demon named Garlic Jr. is the son of a demon who attempted to become guardian of the earth, but the current guardian did not allow it. To get revenge on the world, he obtains the Dragonballs and makes himself immortal (since Gohan was wearing his Dragonball hat at this time, henchmen kidnapped him.) This is the ONLY time in all of Dragonball/Z/GT someone SUCCESSFULLY makes an immortality wish. Goku goes to Garlic Jr's castle with the hopes of rescuing his son, while his worst enemy (at the time,) Piccolo, is also going to the castle to get revenge on the henchmen that attacked him. This film could never have taken place, because the Z-crew already knows Gohan here, but they meet him for the first time in the Raditz saga. Likewise, Goku was surprised to see Gohan's hidden power in the Raditz saga, despite the fact that he uses it in this film. Because the film could never have happened, the Garlic Jr. saga of the actual series could also never have happened.

Bridge Dub, 6 Oct 2006
To fix the confusion, this is non-canon, nothing to do with the series. Plus this is the original dub from earlier on, and there are no credits so you can't find out who voiced it and hate them. Great movie but the voices suck, some name changes, though Son Goku stays the same.
Bulma = Blooma
Krillen = Klyrin
Piccolo = Biggreen (seriously, why? WHY?! WHY?!?!)
And the Dragon Balls are now called the "Magic Sphears" even though they summon a Dragon and are Balls, and the film is called Dragon Ball Z, so why didn't they put two and two together to make some sense? Plus its meant to be a literal Translation, when there are hundreds of misstranslations and they didn't even cut them down so everyone sounds like they're speaking directly fom a script with nnnnnoooo Commas or Full stops, ever watch those crap '70s Dubs of Anime? Tenshinhan (Tien) sounds like a horrible Gollum impression done by someone who isn't even an actor.
Please, buy the FUNimation dubs, sure they screwed up at first but they made up for it. The only good thing about this is... I think you get stickers with it, or those crappy Tattoos, and the Cover looks pretty good. Infact the only good things about this DVD is that its collectable, though not watchable.
Who ever translated this is one lazy piece of work, even though Goku yells the names of his attacks like KAME-HAME-HA, GENKI-DAMA, KAIO-KEN, all of the Attacks become Kamehameha. When Goku throws that final Genki-Dama/Spirit Bomb, he will yell Kamehameha, and you will get very very very dissapointed, more so that the first milisecond after watching after the opening.
Son Goku may sound more heroic, but a low voice doesn't suit him, his voice should be high like the Japanese original.
Oh, another thing to point out, they may have left the video uncut, and slapped on a terrible dub, but they didn't even bother adding Subtitles Or the Japanese Original.
