5.0 out of 5 stars FIFIA 2004, 26 May 2004
The only sports game, if you would like to call it that, I have ever owned on the GBA is Dodge Ball. Since I have to travel ages to get from home in the US to uni in Fife, I decided to purchase FIFA 2004 for GBA since I really enjoyed the version I had on the PC. Although a tad slow at points and though its ratings of the teams are completely different than that of its big brother, the game is fantastically addictive. Only complaint here is that the music in the game is terrible, only clips of two songs, but that is where the options menu shines with the ability for the gamer to turn off the music. Other than that, the number of teams, leagues, cups, and the ability to link up with other GBA's will keep you entertained for hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better game, worse sound, 10 Nov 2003
After playing 2003 pretty much every day since last christmas its fair to say that I was very much looking forward to this version. My initial impression was dissapointment. the gameplay is slower and the sound seemed really lacklustre. However, a 2 hour train journey, with a link cable and a friend completely changed my mind. The slower gameplay causes the player to use a more tactical, passing approach, so the really fast teams like roma dont immediately have the upper hand. The crossing is also better than 2003, so its now much easier to score from headers. With GK/CPU skill set to world class it can be difficult to score, which can lead to frustration, but probably gives it a sense of realism.

So, my only dissapointment now is that there still seems to be no flair.

4.0 out of 5 stars GBA now catching up, 29 Feb 2004
By A Customer
having played fifa on the gamecube, which maintains to improve with each time a new game is released, it has to be said it is being caught up by versions on the GBA. i was surprised to find the quality of the gameplay on the GBA and that it wasnt too far off that on the Gamecube.
it would have to be said that even though the detail of the GBA version isnt anywhere near that of its gamecube and PS2 counter parts, i enjoyed playing the game boy advance version more. it has a more fluent feel to it and didnt seem static like the version on the other consoles.
to compare it with other games on the game boy advance, i would say this was with out doubt the best sports game on this format, and one of the better games available on the gba. it was very useful to help me fill two 20 hour journies to and from the alps and is, in my view well worth getting for those of you who use your gba a lot. this is because fifa posses a very good league system, and there are quite a few teams available to play with from many different nations.
a very fun game. nice one fifa
