The concept of 24 is unique, an action series set in real-time over the course of a day. the first time I watched it, I found myself instantly drawn in by each episodes powerful cliff-hanger endings. However, I was forced to wait a long week for the next episode. When I purchesed the Series 1 DVD however, I was able to watch it in its continuous, blissful form.
Both series' follows a Counter Terrorist agent, known as Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland). In the first series' he is given the duty of protecting presidential candidate Senator David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) from attempted assasination. As the story progresses, the motives behind the attempt on his life becomes more clear, and Bauer's involvement increases.
In the second series the stakes are much higher, a nuclear device, in the hands of terrorists, in in California. Bauer once again takes it upon himself to put an end to the terrorist plans. Once again, true motives, and the real antagonists become clear later, rather than sooner, making viewing compelling.
Both series' provide an strong addictive factor that can easily transform a hour of viewing into a 5 hour marathon. A definate MUST for any fan of film/broadcast action, who wants more than JUST violence with a clever, ever-twisting plot.

If like me you're upgrading your series one collection, or you haven't yet got the set, this Limited Edition is what you need to get. Let me start simply- How good is that artwork compared with the usual collage?
And then it's compared to a combined RRP of £85- That's enough to save for series 3!
The DVD's give you excellent image and sound quality (Best it'll ever get) and when you see the sheer brilliance of the show you are watching you'll get the feeling you've conned the studios.
The first series discs have no special features (With the exception of the famously boring alternate ending and Series 2 preview). The Second series however comes with some great special features, including 3 behind the scenes documentaries. The first 2 are behind the scenes on episodes 47 and 48 (mainly 48) of 24, while the last is behind the scenes footage of a particularly special scene in episode 27. They are all great (The third perhaps being a bit on the techy side) and reveal some great stuff about the cast and crew. The extra/alternate scenes are mostly dull, but about 11 of them are better than what was left in. The so called branching in of the scenes, can not be done without clear gaps, and adding rather than replacing alternate scenes.
Did I even mention this show is one of the greatest television achievements, with great actors and (For the first series anyway) a flawless plotline.
Buy it... you know you'll end up regretting it if you don't

I enjoyed watching both series when they were shown on TV. Having to watch them over so many weeks however made it a bit difficult to keep track of all of the storylines and experience the drama to its full. Now that I have been able to watch the entire series over a much shorter amount of time I have been able to understand and follow the storyline in more detail and have enjoyed watching both series' the second time much more than I did when I watched them the first time.

The extra scenes, interviews and extras that you didn't get to see on TV make it even better.

A must have for any 24 enthusiast!

Out of the first four seasons of '24', I think the first two are slightly superior to seasons 3 and 4, making THIS the boxset definitely worth owning.
