5.0 out of 5 stars No more steamed up windows, 7 Jan 2004
This has got to be the most used item in our kitchen. Having used the very first model Tefal made which was double the price of this one they have made improvements to the design. The main ones are the bowls are now stackable to save on space, the lid turns upside down to provide a stand so the bowl can be taken to the table for serving and the bottom of the bowls (which on the older version came out too easily) now click into place. Once you have one of these you will never go back to boiling your vegetables in pans on the stove. There is no loss of taste to your food and no more steamed up windows. There is also a water collector at the bottom which you can use to make delicious gravy with all the goodness out of the vegetables. At this price you will get yourself a real value for money item.

5.0 out of 5 stars cool cooking, 16 Dec 2003
After having used my sisters version i was happy to find this model which is both cheaper and has the express heating method. It is simplicity itself to use, including an easy to see water level. It has a handy refill spout at both sides for both left and right handers, so that you can start your veg cooking with thew minimum of water and top it up from the kettle (if you are in a rush). The compartments fit together quite well and they have a nice bowl you can use for rice or fish which pops in one of the compartments. each of the compartments dismantles for easy cleaning, as does the heating unit at the bottom. The food cooks quickly and by adding the compartments you can cook a whole range of veg and have it all ready at the same time. I love it and would recommend it, especially over the cheaper two tier which lacks the timer and refill spouts.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointed user, 19 Feb 2005
By A Customer
The steamer itself is an excellent idea, the problem lies however in the plastic baskets and trivets. This is an item used on a daily basis in our home. The plastic flanges holding the trivets in place broke off shortly after purchase, but the item could still be used. The next thing to happen was for small cracks to appear in the lid, followed by more serious cracks in the baskets especially basket one, which, because of the design is the most used. This was followed by cracks in the other baskets which finally ended in breaks which allowed the steam to escape. The top ot the lid is a circle of plastic, this was the final thing to go, coming of in my hand. I phoned up to try and purchase spares, but the phone line plays you a nice tune, rings and then cuts you off!!! Try a different make.

1.0 out of 5 stars Plastics not up to it!
I bought this steamer two years ago and use it a reasonable amount. First the basket bases broke so no longer clip in. Then the handle on the lid came off. Read more
