Product Description

CD Description

New-generation Warp Records wunderkind Chris Clark follows his 2001 debut 'Clarence Park' with this second album of crisp and cerebral electronica. Whilst still in debt to Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, this opens up the dirty 80s electro influences glimpsed on his recent, superbly titled EP 'Ceramics Is The Bomb' and goes some way towards establishing Clark as his own man.

4.0 out of 5 stars feels like my skull's been emptied, 29 Jan 2004

This album's tremendous! I havn't heard 'Clarence Park' yet, but thanks to this album I'm gonna! The album's full of skittering beats and huge, epic noise, and is reminiscent of other Warp artists like Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. A must buy for any fan of electronic music. The Warp roster just keeps getting better!

5.0 out of 5 stars stellar, 3 July 2006
By S. Evans - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Chris Clark is, I think, one of the finest electronic musicians in the world today. His production and compositional skills are absolutely first-class and although clearly influenced by warp legends past and present this does not compromise the uniqueness of this album. The tracks, and the album as a whole, evolve beautifully, juxtaposing technoesque workouts against sweeping ambient soundscapes that leaves the listener stunned. This album has an emotional content unmatched by any other electronica album I have heard (although aphex's SAW is a serous contender). And yet the consistency of this album surpasses even aphex. All in all a deeply satisfying listen, sometimes beautiful, sometimes hard and frenetic, but always extremely intelligent and finely crafted electronica. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite album of 2003, 11 Mar 2004
By A Customer
I probably got more mileage out of this CD that anything else I bought last year, at any rate. This is on-your-own, dark and quiet room, chunky-headphone music that will trap you for an hour and not let you out. Some of the most graphic and engaging sounds you might hear for a while.
