Grappling is by far the most devastating medium of martial arts, however if you dont know what your looking at you will probably be disappointed; it is all on the floor, no fancy knock outs here and (unfortunatley) people tap out before there legs snap inwards.

This DVD features some of the UFC's best tap outs and submissions from the best Submission fighters. It is a great teaching tool for martial artists (I found it particularly useful in watching the ways that some of the moves are set up).

Apart from 2 pointless special features, the DVD is good, containing a step by step guide by Rico Rodrigues which shows how to apply some of the basic submissions (nothing new here for jiu jitsu practioners, but beginners will find useful).

On the negative side its expensive for the 60 minutes it lasts (not including special features) and there is precious few seconds from the master Royce Gracie. You will be dissapointed if you dont understand ground fighting, otherwise a great 'best of'.

This is a great dvd if you like watching people tap out, but there is no time spent showing the set up for the technique which among the most interesting things about submissions. The dvd is not that long either, but a couple of nice features are in there showing of some simple technique demonstrations from ricco roddrigez and gil castillo. Its good to see some of the early fighters on show and just about worth the money.

Ricco Rodriguez guests with Mike Goldberg to introduce the best chokes,armlocks and leglocks. Strangely no clips to be seen of Rodriguez? most likely because he's not very good(fluked over a tired Couture and couldn't win his first title defence against a clumsy Sylvia).
A trip down memory lane for some, while a good look at past heroes for others, armlocks are all a bit the same (the cross armbar is a popular technique) but apart from the fact that it may be a bit pricey for a "Best of", it 's all good!
