5.0 out of 5 stars Links 2004 - Great Game, 21 May 2004
This is a great game. It has the best graphics I've seen in any golf game so far.

There are 9 courses to play (1 fantasy course), and they all look great. Also, if you've got xbox live, you can download additional courses. Also, you can join tournaments, or start your own and play with people worldwide if you like, or just play along with some friends if you like.

It's also a great single player game, with the possibility to play tournaments on several tours, or play a single round of strokeplay, stableford, skins or matchplay (many others as well).

A great feature is that you have 3 difficulty levels. This is great since it keeps the game alive a lot longer.
The nicknames you pick for you player pretty much suck, though, but it doesn't really matter.

Compared to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, it's quite similar. It doesn't have as many courses available, but the courses you have look a lot better. Also the fade/draw option and spin control is a bit different. Everything is done ahead of the shot, so you can't manipulate the shot after the stroke. This adds a lot more realism to the game.

Customizing your player is a lot more simplistic than in TW 2004, so the players aren't that personal. Also, the swing animations are a bit better in TW. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about.

Anyway, it's a great game. If you're looking for lots of courses to play, go for TW 2004. That game gets very easy, way too fast, though.
If you're looking for superb graphics, and somewhat more of a challange, go for Links 2004.

4.0 out of 5 stars Links 2004 Xbox, 2 Jan 2004
By A Customer
After playing Tiger Woods 2003 I was hooked on golf games. So, one of my first purchases for my new Xbox was this title. The gameplay is very similar to TW2003 i.e. swinging the club. The learning curve is pretty steep. You start off pretty bad and improve relatively quickly. In fact, it does get a little too easy after a few days. The carrer mode should last 2/3 weeks on beg level. I have yet to try the game in the othetr modes.
The real winner for this game is the compatibility with Xbox Live!! Here you get to play people from all over the world. Quick strokeplay is very fast and great fun. I look forward to trying out other modes and making full use othe facility.

Overall, a great game

4.0 out of 5 stars Must have golf games for XBOX Live, 9 Nov 2004
If you use Xbox Live and have a european/PAL Xbox then this is the only way to get your golfing kicks online given that EA have removed the online component from Tiger Woods 2005 on the European release of Tiger Woods.

I own both the Tiger Woods and Links on the Xbox and I have to say that I prefer Links set of challengers and courses to Tiger Woods 'power-drive' style of golf.

Overall a great single and multiplayer game and the ONLY ONE in europe to support XBOX Live. At this price, it's a steal :)
