Links 2004 - Great Game, 21 May 2004
This is a great game. It has the best graphics I've seen in any golf game so far. There are 9 courses to play (1 fantasy course), and they all look great. Also, if you've got xbox live, you can download additional courses. Also, you can join tournaments, or start your own and play with people worldwide if you like, or just play along with some friends if you like. It's also a great single player game, with the possibility to play tournaments on several tours, or play a single round of strokeplay, stableford, skins or matchplay (many others as well). A great feature is that you have 3 difficulty levels. This is great since it keeps the game alive a lot longer. The nicknames you pick for you player pretty much suck, though, but it doesn't really matter. Compared to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, it's quite similar. It doesn't have as many courses available, but the courses you have look a lot better. Also the fade/draw option and spin control is a bit different. Everything is done ahead of the shot, so you can't manipulate the shot after the stroke. This adds a lot more realism to the game. Customizing your player is a lot more simplistic than in TW 2004, so the players aren't that personal. Also, the swing animations are a bit better in TW. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about. Anyway, it's a great game. If you're looking for lots of courses to play, go for TW 2004. That game gets very easy, way too fast, though. If you're looking for superb graphics, and somewhat more of a challange, go for Links 2004.
