An impressive LCD product from GNR, 22 Jul 2003
One word can sum up this GNR product - and that's got to be 'impressive'. The 19" screen is huge and the image crystal clear, brighter than any other I've seen. In addition, because the integrated speakers are at the back, the slim and stylish silver bezel is left unspoilt. It's bound to generate a few envious looks when sat on your desk top. No problem to set up, the monitor was unpacked, plugged-in and installed in minutes, especially thanks to the 'auto' set up button. The first thing you notice is just how light weight these screens are, my 17" CRT monitor was almost impossible to shift! I have also gained inches of desk top space. A unique and welcome feature of this monitor is that it's height-adjustable so you can get the best possible viewing position, which is important with LCD screens. Also worth noting is that there wasn't a single faulty pixel, something which can apparently be common with this type of display. I was nervous about changing to an LCD display because some say the performance is poor compared with standard CRT models - I have not found this to be the case. After much shopping around I finally opted for this product on the basis that it came out on top in all areas on paper, including price. So far I've not been disappointed and have found this monitor excellent for viewing DVD movies and the internet, working with DTP and web design packages like Dreamweaver (which require lots of desktop space), and I'm told it's good for fast paced games too, with little or no 'ghosting'. In fact, everything looks fantastic on it! The only negative comment I will add is that, compared with my old CRT (which did have a built-in bass unit to be fair), the sound quality from this monitor is appauling - very 'tinny' indeed. I will definitely have to invest in some decent speakers. Other than that, GNR have certainly got it right here, and all with a 3 year warranty giving that extra peace of mind. I don't think you could do any better, even for spending more of that hard-earned cash. So go on and treat yourself!

this monitor is simply awesome. As soon as it arrived I had it out of the box and set up in 5 minutes. Too be honest I wasn't expecting much for £240 I just needed the cheapest largest screen I could afford, as I use my PC for editing and design purposes. My previous monitor was an aging 15" CRT so moving to a 19" flat panel was a big jump for me; I wouldn't want to go back. The display is clear and bright and it arrived with no dead pixels, the size is simply awesome, and it looks pretty stylish to boot! the build quality is fairly robust and tilting/angling the monitor doesn't require much effort. I do play some high end games on my PC also, it does, when running such games as half-life 2 display some ghosting, but it is minimal and hasn't really bothered me when playing.
Overall you simply can't go wrong with this monitor, it's better than anything I expected to get for £240 quid. If you are thinking of upgrading to a large flat panel I urge you to consider this monitor, and if you aren't thinking of upgrading why not its so cheap!? Despite the name (GNR, ever heard of them? nor had I)this performs like any off the shelf familliar brand. With a 3 year manufacturers warranty also... I can't comment on the speakers as I have not bothered to plug them in I am sure they would be adequate for occasional use, and could come in handy.In short... AWESOME

GNR 19 inch monitor - A versatile configuration , 5 Dec 2006
I have had this monitor for over a year and have found it to be reliable, and functionally better than a lot of monitor I also use. The variable height and tilt make the monitor great for many people to use without too much adjustment, the swivel means it can be turned to face somebody next to you.
The rear speakers save on desk clutter, but do not increase the footprint of the monitor at the cost of viewing / overall facia presentation.
The picture clarity, definition, and contrast are good. The controls and menu's are well laid out.
