The stylish and compact 15" TFT LCD monitor from GNR could be the perfect replacement for your old CRT monitor. One of the major benefits of a TFT screen is that glare and reflections are cut right down allowing you to focus on the screen. Although the GNR TFT LCD monitor has a screen display of 15", it has the viewing area equivalent to that of a 17" CRT monitor. The refresh rate is very good but if you spend your time scrolling through text you will get a certain degree of ghosting.
At just over 2 inches thick at its deepest part of the screen, it takes up very little room on your work area. The base has an oval footprint of about 8.5 inches wide by just less than 6 inches deep. The monitor is well designed and comes with both a metal base and a laptop style locking point so you can attach it to your desk. It also has points for mounting it on a wall. The silvered finish adds to the feel of good build-quality, as do the clearly labelled adjustment buttons, which you probably won't need as the monitor has an auto set-up feature.
With a three-year onsite warranty from the manufacturer you know you're getting a very reliable monitor. The quality of the screen is outstanding; the image is razor sharp and has a surprisingly large viewing angle. With the prices of TFT monitors falling quickly and with so many manufacturers to choose from, you couldn't do much better than this for the money. --Nick Baxter
