This album was originally released in 1973 with both the title track single and the album hitting the top 10 of the pop charts.Shirley Bassey recorded 11 studio albums during the 70's for United Artists. The first 4 have been re-released by EMI with original artwork and state of the art sound quality. This was Shirley's 5th studio album of the 70's and this version is released by the "Remember" label from Portugal. The sound quality is awful and ruins this great album. It sounds like the material was transferred from cassette to cd with a muslin sheet tied over the microphone!. We can only hope that EMI will release this superb album and the others recorded between 1973 and 1979 with the same quality as "Something" "Something Else" "I Capricorn" and "And I Love You So". Buy these 4 cds but skip this until the remastered version comes along.

At last one of the best BASSEY albums complete on cd, this saw Shirley Bassey at her vocal peek in the early 1970's - moving away from her previous showtunes and standard works of the 1960's - Bassey took on great popular songs of the age - earlier recording songs from the Beatles and other pop greats of the era.
This album saw here cover 'Grande, Grande, Grande' in English as 'Never, Never, Never', which was to be her last chart hit for many years.
The cd lacks the original artwork - photography by Lord Snowdon!
The second problem is the sound quality - this is a cheaply produced transfer from tape or vinyl...sometracks are even faded earlier to hide the vinyl sounds in between tracks - 'SOMEHOW' has the worst sound - which is a real shame as it is a classic Bassey performance.

Hopefully EMI will release this now officially soon!

Awful sound. I hope they re-release this album with remastered sound and the original artwork. The songs are first rate, but the orchestrations and Shirley's vocals are lost in that horrible background hiss!
Only for die-hard Shirley Fans.

It has lost the art work by Snowdon, but this is the original album transferred beatifully to C.D. We find the 'Dame' at the peak of her powers. Read more
