I purchased two of these mills around a year ago and they are still going strong. I decided to buy electronic ones because my hands were cramping with the manual peppermills. They are used frequently but not on a daily basis and I haven't had to change the batteries yet. You can adjust the small wheel at the base of the mill to get fine or course pepper but to be honest I haven't found a big difference in the settings....be careful not to turn the wheel too far or it will fall apart in your hands and it's a fidely job to put it back together. I have on occasions picked up the mill and pressed the start button by mistake but this doesn't deter me from using it. The light is handy when adding salt or pepper to large deep pots.
If you are looking for a electronic peppermill which is easy to hold and use, sturdy and looks good then this is the mill for you.

I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and very poor grip. This mill is so easy to use, I have bought a second. Unlike another reviewer, I have found the amount of adjustment is superb, from dust to chunks. You just need to turn the little wheel on the bottom to suit. Even I could do it. I cannot comment on battery life yet but I have put in Duracell Alkaline cells which are not cheap but should give a good long life and prove more economical in the long run.

Another reviewer said it better than I could, that this is a substantial piece of machinery. I like it so much that I have two, each for different kinds of peppercorns and I also think of it as a special gift.

I have given my 'Gourmet Cook', 86 year old, father-who-has-everything one and he uses it everyday while our daughter who wants few possessions, also likes it very much.

Other electric mills are not as well made and have failed our family but not this one. Even the light is good, one can now 'see' into a dark pot of soup and know just how much pepper has accumulated.

After a lot of research, I think this is the best mill on the market today.
