A compilation by Café De Soul label of artists not known by the masses, the liner notes are not up to much and thankfully the music makes up for them.

There’s only two tracks I’m not keen on but the rest of the CD has lots of pure soulful sounds starting off with Phillip Hunter’s I can love you better a great groove, then on to Tashan with a great return to form a great dancer over a wicked bass line.
Miles Jaye’s Should have been strong will become a classic, what a beat.

I would find it hard that anyone could not be moved by Lugo’s singing on Good to go with its haunting trumpet in the background. The CD finishes off with I found love by Race that sends a shiver down the spine, and gives you a wee tingle superb.

We have been spoilt for compilations this year 2003 with togetherness 2003, Village Soul, and I’ve still to listen to Dome Cooking 2 but if that’s as good as the first one all four come strongly recommended.

This album contains quality soul, five stars.
