Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Preview
Pokémon Colosseum, like the Pokémon Stadium games that begat it, is primarily a way of seeing the Pokémon you've caught in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in full 3-D on your GameCube. By connecting a Game Boy Advance to your GameCube (link cable required) you can upload all your data from the portable games so that it appears on your GameCube and on the big screen. This means you can examine your Pokédex of over 200 Pokémon in full 3D, swap and trade items and Pokémon, view extensive tutorials, set out your hidden base, use e-cards and, most importantly, battle.

Pokémon Colosseum features a range of battlegrounds, ranging from out in the middle of Petalburg Woods to within a giant stadium with thousands of onlookers. You choose to fight the battles either against the computer, a friend or in a team battle with four people, but whatever you decide suddenly your Pokémon and all their amazing moves will be in super realistic 3-D-–they look even better than they do in the cartoon. Using either the GBA or the normal GameCube controller makes the battles really come alive as you fight for honour or one of the many unlockable secrets.

The only problem with Pokémon Colosseum is that it's out so long after Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, but if you can wait that long this an absolute must-have for any Pokéfan. --David Jenkins

Manufacturer's Description
In Pokémon Colosseum players can upload their Pokémon from Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire and battle them with friends in highly rendered dazzling 3-D graphics. There are many arenas to choose from, making each battle unlike the last. Players can enter their Pokémon into a tournament or battle it out in 4-player multi-battles. Join with a friend to combine strength in new two-on-two battles, demonstrating prowess as a team. The true Pokémon masters can test their skill by setting limits on Pokémon levels and types; the playing field is level but the competition is fierce.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just an upgraded version of pokemon stadium!, 13 Feb 2004
By Ruth Ludlam "princess_zelda" (Bracknell, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
NB: Nintendo will be releasing a bonus disk with the limited edition version (I don't think it is this version!!) which has a BONUS POKEMON on it! That you can download into your Ruby or Sapphire game through the Gamecube to GBA link cable! It is called Jirachi, and is steel/psychic. It is ONLY available on pre-order, so make sure you pre-order the right version if you're getting it from Amazon.

This game has a lot more than Stadium had - now there's a huge RPG mode that actually makes up most of the game where you go around fighting other trainers to steal their pokemon. Just what I've always wanted to do! You start out with two quite high level pokemon, and rarely meet anything lower than a level 20. You also don't get to catch any wild pokemon, and you can only steal someone else's pokemon if it is a dark one. And then they will only level up once you heal them at a shrine and they only learn one move, dark rush, which can damage your pokemon. But it is really different from how the game has been before. There's no wandering around in the grass because there are no wild pokemon - you just have to choose your next city from the overhead map. Your aim is to defeat Team Dark and Team Snatch and you always fight in two on two formation, like you can do in Ruby and Sapphire.

Apart from that, there are lots of nice extras as well as Colosseum Mode, which is pretty much just like Stadium but with nicer graphics. And mini-games and decorating your Secret Base, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, Bad Multiplayer, 23 May 2004
I simply loved the first pokemon Stadium, and never played its sequal but this is truly the best pokemon game out there. The multiplayer is lost, in my opinion, As everybody needs to own a GBA and a copy of Ruby or Saphire. Although the multiplayer is gone the single player is likely to keep you busy for hours on end. Were not talking 5-6 overall, were talking times that by 10. Some people even played for 76 hours. Thats how good this game is. So dont buy it, like i did, for the multiplayer with friends unless you all have Ruby or Saphire. Buy it for the single player. I write this review as i hope that people wont find it a dissapointment when they realise the multiplayer value has gone. As for the graphics, they are supurb. Some of the best that have ever decided to fall onto the gamecube. Plus its exclusive to the gamecube. More and More games are being lost to better consoles like the Xbox and PS2, but this gives you a reason to pull out your gamecube and get some good quality fun.

By P M Dolan (Stockport, Cheshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This game is great for pokemonfans.Pokemon colosseum is about snagging pokemon and purifing pokemon with your two best pokemon (Espeon and Umbreon).Pokemon colosseum has two modes story is about snagging pokemon and purifing them and colosseum battle is where you can battle in colosseums or challenge mt.battle(mt.battle is where you have to face 100 trainers and defeat them)or you can link up with your friends and battle each other and get pokecoupons to exchange them for rare items. And you can trade with the gameboy advance games Pokemon ruby, saphire, fire red and Leaf green.
