AMAZING DVD release from LEGENDARY Pete Burns and DEAD OR ALIVE. Fans of CLUB Music, HI-NRG, EUROBEAT, PWL, ELECTRO, 80's POP, NEW WAVE, PUNK, DAVID BOWIE, CAMP ICONIC MUSIC/ARTISTS will love this!

The DVD is a treasure of video and sound footage! (Hearing these pop/dance classics in DOLBY 5.1 Sound is amazing!)
Lots of extra features, including the entire 'RIP IT UP' live concert from Japan, extra TV appearances, and bonus music videos! The DVD also features the BRAND NEW 'You Spin Me 2003' video, discography, web-links + glossy colour photo book DVD inlay!!

EXCELLENT HIGH QUALITY RELEASE AT AN EXCELLENT PRICE!

Well, it's been a long time coming.
This is the first time most of the videos featured on this disc have been seen in the UK. Apart from the "Big Hits" the rest were deemed too risky or provocative to be shown on Tv - but like most things that gain this kind of reputation, the reality is something different.
The collection shows how Pete and the band have evolved over the past 20-odd years. From the famous "You spin me round" video, up to the present day, this is a glimpse into the very tongue in cheek world of Pete Burns.
Seperate from the standard promo videos, are the TV performances, which for me make the disc even more of a gem.
These show the band in the early 80's, and give the viewer a bit of an insight into the bands roots....if you are not familiar with their early work, be prepared for a bit of a smack in the gob - especially the tracks "Flowers" and "It's been hours now". It was brave of Pete to put them on.....but we all have a past.
Also packed in here is the "Rip It Up" live concert, which has been a bit of a rarity in the UK, and alone, would make the DVD worth having. All in all a great DVD with some great songs, and a few laughs thrown in for good measure....it's been worth the wait.

I would rate most of the content of this disc as being just what I expected and hoped for when I ordered it. Since I had only seen a very few of these videos before ( mostly in gay dance clubs, since DOA never made much of a splash on American MTV ), I was delighted to view these video artifacts from one of my favourite musical eras; the 80's.

Unfortunately, there was one less than satisfactory item on the disc. I was really looking forward to having the "Rip It Up- Live In Japan" film on DVD to replace my Laserdisc version ( as cheesy as the concert is, I just love watching it ), but even though the sound is fine, there is a visible stutter every few frames throughout the entire feature that is quite distracting and annoying. I've never had this problem with any other region 2 discs that I've purchased, and can only assume that it is a defect peculiar to the mastering of this particular disc.

Other than that flaw I would heartily recommend this disc to any Dead Or Alive fan.
