Product Description

The Sims are making a big return to the console and this time they are bustin' out of the house and exploring all-new locations around town. In The Sims Bustin' Out your sims have the opportunity to leave the confines of their neighbourhood; you travel seamlessly around town in your new scooter or car to play, work and socialise. You can visit, explore or live in new locations such as Club Rubb, the hip dance venue, or venture to the Love Shack. Additional locations include Shiny Things Lab, Art Gallery, Gymnasium and "Family" Diner.

Like the previous console versions of The Sims you create a character and play through over a dozen all-new unlockable levels. There are 10 new career paths to choose from including Mobster, Athlete, Mad Scientist and Fashion Victim that will take you through multiple ways to play and win the game.

There are over 100 new objects and social moves: console exclusive objects include the Laser Light Show, DJ Booth, Climbing Wall and High Dive. You can also unlock hidden, appearance-enhancing accessories such as tattoos, do-rags and piercings. And if you want to up the stakes in your sims social interaction you can French kiss, towel snap, and Moon walk your way to social superiority.

You can then try out these new moves on the 40 New Characters such as Bing Bling, the party animal and Goldie Toane, the workout queen, who also double as key sources to unlocking locations, objects, social interactions and winning the game.

Additionally, you can play two-player throughout the entire game with or against your friends. The Sims Bustin' Out also features new integrated two-player gameplay and memory card support, for those players who like to take their Sims over to a friend's house and show them off.

4.0 out of 5 stars The sims are back!, 19 Jan 2004
I got this game for christmas from my parents for my new gamecube which i got off my boyfriend (pointless info!) and i was quite impressed. This is the second Sims game to be released on the Gamecube,i played the first one on the ps2 and although it was good,it was very limited. The Sims Bustin Out however has been opened up alot, there are two choices you can either play Bustin Out mode, where your objective is to move up in the world, complete goals (which unlock objects in build/buy mode and unlock social options) or free play mode like the game on the pc. In bustin out mode you can get jobs (which you could do in the first one) and get promoted. There are 10 jobs in all (that ive seen) all with about 5 promotions. In order to get promotions you must improve your skills (Ex.-Read,swim,workout,play guitar, etc) You can also jump in your car or on your scooter (yes you have transport!) and drive around, visiting people or even move out into a bigger better house. There are lots of different places to go like The Octagon-A military base,Pixel Acres-A nudist Camp (naked pingpong anyone?! Yes you can play it!) Studio 8-An art museum and Club Rubb-A nightclub-where you can shake that groove thang! In this mode you have to complete goals, some simple some harder, some you can complete in the comfort of the house some you have to visit other people to complete. By completing these goals you unlock objects for build/buy mode and also social options, which there are LOADS of,including towel snap, show muscles, magic trick, gossip, kiss hand, air kiss, insult, brag, scare and my personal favourite, pull my finger!
For those of you who dont like playing through levels of promotions and moving up in the world there is the normal Sims game (Free Play) where you create your own characters, make a house then live in it,simple as that. This is very limited, although you can still get jobs you cannot visit anyone and money seems to run out fast. However it is very addictive,i love decorating a new house and getting all the people inside to love/hate eachother.
The graphics for this game are SO much better than all the other Sims games, everything is smoother, the faces of the Sims are quite realistic,it is possible to actually make a sim look like yourself! The clothes are very modern and fun,the selection still includes those oh so popular red love heart boxer shorts! The music is better too,the music through out the game is not as annoying as past sims games and when the sims listen to their music on the game you cant help but bob along with it.
The whole game is great i had no problems, but there has to have atleast one flaw (its only fair) and this has to be that you can still only have a one floored house!!! We want stairs!!! And it can get a tiny bit annoying when your sims are depressed and there just doesnt seem to be enough time in the day to care for their needs, but the clever people at maxis and EA games have a cure for this...their is such thing as FREE WILL!!!!! Yay!!!! Even though most of the time its easier for you to contol your sim yourself.
If you have a gameboy advance, the Sims Bustin out for the gba and a link cable you can transfer sims onto the gba game from you gamecube and carry them around everywhere! Quite fun!

I would advise everyone to go out and buy this, its a very good game for both adults and children, the outcomes are endless! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bigger and better, 10 Mar 2004
Having bought and played the Sims on the Gamecube I was quite excited when thhis new game came out. Eeverything about this game build and improves on the first one released on this platform. The choice of characters is larger, the number of locations are huge and the graphics are of a better quality. The basis premis of the game is to progress through your life in terms of housing, career and relationships, whhich is much like the first game. However the different locations add a great new way of progressing and the facility to visit other locations means that if you get tired of staring at thhe same background it is easy to go somewhere different. There are some funky places to chill out and even the possibility of stealing things from other people's houses!
You will need a lot of save space for this game, however, as it takes up quite a lot of room. The only other criticism I have of it is that sometimes it becomes tedious when trying to build skills needed for a job promotion. This, though, is only a small fault and overall the game is quite brilliant and very addictive and enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another one?, 19 Oct 2003
By A Customer
O.K. lets recap. The sims is the best selling pc game ever and there bringing one for the x box,gamecube,ps2 AND GBA!!!
It first shocked me when i saw game boy advance but its true!
The sims bustin out (i personaly think)is the best game they have made so-far. You can actually have a scooter or car! for you to go to places like club rubb, the hip dance venue,or casa caliente and more in total 16 locations. There are new careers including gangster, athlete, mad scientist, and fasion victim.

And now you can unlock things like the DJ booth, climbing wall, and sim eating plant. and unlock hidden apperance-enhancing accessories, clothes and hair styles.
Now new social moves like french kiss, pull finger, and dirty dance and LOTS more.
You can meet new charactors around town like bing bling, the party animal, goldie toane, the workout queen, and the military roughneck - Genaral payne.
Also available is new hip clothes, a bit of advice is an outgoing or playful sim is good at showing off their moves on the dance floor, a active sim is good at the climbing wall!
There are sleek new graphics, seamless UI,shadows in real-time,new voices, sound affects and all-new original music.
So for all you serious sim gamers and kind of fans well actually new people to the game aswell! GET THIS GAME! MONEY WELL SPENT! YOUR MUM/DAD WILL BE BUGGING YOU A LOT BECAUSE PEOPLE (HOPEFULLY) WILL BE GLUED TO THE TV SCREEN!!!
