    We had great difficulty getting this to pay DVDs at all. The only way it would work was by resetting it to factory settings every time we used it and then going through the setup programme. Once we switched off it forgot the settings. Also, it would only play region 2 DVDs. Some, but not all, Jpeg CDs would play and it was fine for music CDs. I think the problem probably lay with the modification to multi-region rather than the manufacturer. Panasonic's customer care leaves something to be desired - they took three weeks to reply to my query and refused help because of the modification to multi-region. However, Amazon have refunded in full. We are looking for a replacement but are now wary of modified players.

    As a die-hard user of NICAM VHS I was astounded by the crispness of the picture quality and the dynamics of the audio. For anyone contemplating a first step from VHS to DVD, this machine really swings the deal. Setting up takes moments, with a well-designed on-screen menu.

    My sister wanted a multi-region DVD player for her birthday this year. After doing some research, I decided that this Panasonic model offered exactly what she wanted at a very reasonable price. The quality of the picture is excellent, the manual is easy to understand, and the remote control is easy to use. She is delighted with her present and is happy to recommend it anyone.
