Thats what I thought of myself when I realised that I'd overlooked all of Bola's works. I'd been through music shops so many times, picked up his stuff and put it down with the thought of 'Oh I must check that out some time' ... now I've heard it I realise I've been missing out on something.

Going towards the more listenable side of Warp output rather than the abstract noodlings some other artists go for, its a totally comforting listening experience. Wonderful melodic synth laden tracks, hypnotic and futuristic.

Bizarely it occasionally reminds me of the soundtrack that accompanied Zone Of The Enders, the electro bleeps and squeaks and airy synths of Versivo and WIC being perfect examples of this.

Those who like the more melodic side of Warp, the Plaids, Boards Of Canadas of this world, and even those partial to nicely chilled albums like Global Communications 76:14 will find themselves right at home here. Don't make my mistake and put off listening to any of this!

This is an extrememly intense, melancholic meander through experimental electronic sound!

Subtly industrial and quite heavy in places, the far-out ambient soundscapes transport you into something resembling a huge rumbling train passing through vast expanses of misty rocky wilderness during the early hours.

This unique downtempo creation has the potential to amaze, but only if youre ready for it, I wouldnt recommend it as background music in any a social setting - Its far too introspective.

If you'd like to experience a solitary journey into rhythmic, slightly discordant, beautifully layered sound while contemplating the intricacies and wonders of existence then this CD is a must!

I had never heard of Bola but through reading some good things about them, decided to buy Soup. And, it's probably one of the best albums I have ever bought. There is enough variation in theme through the album to keep you interested in the different compositions but the album ends quite beautifully with Whoblo, a very Warp'esque track which will relax all the sinews in your muscles and trigger a rush of endorphins while it unravels through your mind. Quite beautiful.
