Synopsis

Liverpool started the 2002-2003 season with serious ambitions to finally capture the Premiership title. After a wonderful start which lead the team to the top of the league table, they hit a run of poor form that saw their championship hopes evaporate. Salvation was to be found in the Worthington Cup, however, with a fine 2-0 victory over rivals Manchester United. This DVD collects all the goals and action from the season along with a bonus disc that contains the Worthington Cup Final in its entirety.

I'm not sure too many LFC fans would want to be reminded of this season but I'd urge you to think twice. The early part of the season saw an avalanche of goals prompting loud roars from the fans as the team shot to the top of the table, and it's great to relive those moments. The game against Spartak Moscow treats you to five goals and some great play. But then comes the nightmare in Basle, and the matches following that are probably not something to watch too many times, but for a mini revival late on which includes a 6 goals win away to West Brom. If you get the DVD version, you get another disc chronicling the Worthy win including the full 90 minutes against our friends from Manchester. I'm glad I bought this product and hope you at least get to watch it if not purchase it.

This DVD is about the full review of the 2002/2003 season from Liverpool FC which ends the Reds finishing a disappointing fifth in the league despite a promising start, but there are some highlights to the season including striker Michael Owen scoring hat tricks away at Manchester City in the Premiership and Spartak Moscow in the Champions League (including a 5-0 win in the home fixture) and netting four away in a 6-0 thrashing at West Bromwich Albion, other highlights include late shows at home to Chelsea and Charlton Athletic, a seven goal thriller away at Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter final with a late twist, a derby win away at Everton and home and away victories over Auxerre in the UEFA Cup set up a two-legged affair with scottish giants Celtic but the high point of the season was the League Cup Final triumph over arch rivals Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff which ended in a 2-0 win. This DVD has highlights of every goal from every game from the Premiership, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup with interviews from the players and the manager and archive from BBC, ITV and Sky Sports at over 100 minutes full of action and it is narrated by Mike Hall. This may not live in the memory of any red but it should provide some entertainment by watching some good football and some cracking goals to wet your appetite.

I thought that this dvd was one of the best if not the best dvd i have purchased!! It has the briliant 2-0 win against man utd in full 90 mins and interviews. Plus extended higlights of three games, one the merseyside derby and michael owens 20 european goals. It wasnt the best of seasons in the premiership mind you but we were top at the beginning and we had thrashings against west brom 6 - 0 and spartak 5 - 0, which we played great football in.

overall - superb
