4.0 out of 5 stars Cool Dark Humoured Gem., 16 May 2003
I saw this one last night after my older brother purchased it on DVD. I was a little wary at first, being as my brother has sometimes......bad taste....but I enjoyed this movie. It is an enjoyable, comedy/horror flick. It is pretty unconventional, with road movie elements and sick dark humour which I love. At times it is all very confusing but the film is not at all tedious. It is a no-brainer and should be viewed as such. Just tune out your brain and tune in your tasteless sick humour side. It reminds me of so many movies. From Dusk Till Dawn, Way Of The Gun, Tales From The Crypt and with humour like Idle
Hands. Id recommend it to ppl who dont take their movies to seriously and enjoy good bloody gross-out humour. The two guys who go round recruiting the Legion Of The Dead are great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Something Rotten, 14 Dec 2004
By Wez (Kent, England) - See all my reviews
Right from the off there is something not quite right about this film. The dialogue and acting is of porn movie quality; the plot a woefull mess of dead ends and non sequitors, edited very, very late at night. It also (unfortunately) believes itself to be both hip and riotously funny in equal measures, slavishly apeing Tarantino and Carpenter characters, sets and chat, yet missing by a country mile. There are a couple of nice gross out effects and a fair enough turn by the physchotic bloke picking up hitchers. It is also in a category of one in the stoner/zombie/road movie/occult/apocalypse/romance section of the rental store.
All became clear on checking the DVD extras; it was made in Germany using a cast of whatever resident American actors they could find ( I suspect whatever Americans they could find, full stop), using a script translated into English from the original and no doubt hilarious German.
Car crash film making.

I really enjoyed this film, okay its not the greatest horror movie ever made, but I've seen alot worse. I'd recommend it to any horror fan.
