I must admit that when I heard that Gonzales was releasing a 'Best Of' my immediate reaction was "What already!". So I was very curious to find out what were the best of his tracks (admitedly I tried to think of a 'Best Of' myself but I ended up with using every track from his past releases!) All I can say is that is brilliant! Each track used has been reworked in a different style with familiar co-singers as Peaches, Taylor Savvy, Fiest, Louie Austen and a guest star Princess Superstar.
I especially love the lounge-bar version of 'Lets Groove Again', and the disco takes of 'Take me to Broadway' and 'The Joy of Thinking'. But the biggest joy of this album is the sleeve-notes which reveal the history behind some of the original tracks and the reasons behind the reworks. All in all a very pleasant purchase indeed.
