This game, highly dedicated to one of the world's legendary sporting car manufacturers, can be considered as more than just a simple game.
If offers good information of the models, from the early Porsche 356 of the 50s era to the latest 911 (996) and Boxster models. It allows for a unique perspective into these cars that no other glossy car book can offer, namely how these incredible automobiles drive and sound! You can almost feel how they respond to your touch. What other game offers such a full range collection of classic as well as modern Porsches?
Every artistic aspect of the game has been very much updated, now offering much 'smoother' running cars and more distinct variations in the engine sounds compared to prior games, interiors are also more detailed even with the apperance of the driver's hands now!
The only negative point, however, is that you are forced to download some of the more rare and exotic models, such as the 959 and other GT models. But with a decent internet hook-up this should be no problem and only add to the excitement of being able to add to this incredible collection.
Well worth the buy!

This is the best racing game I have seen! Every other game I have tried has not come near this one. The other games in the "need for speed" series (though nfs 3 was great fun racing downloaded tanks and buses!!) aren't nearly the same quality of smooth running, realism and detail as "Porsche Unleashed/2000", even the nfs6 that was released after this one was disappointing. Here you have a wide choice of cars from early models to Boxster, and extra cars can be downloaded from the nfs site and easily installed. There are a variety of competitions and terrains ( city, country, coast, and the Police even have Porches that will try to outrun you! ) to choose from, and a "factory" series of levels which is incredible - learn to handle your Porsche driving on short tracks and skidding around bollards, then the missions get progressively more difficult. So mr.Boss/Director of Electronic Arts, can we PLEEEZE have another game the same high quality of "Porsche", only covering Ferraris???...... Buy it!! this is a real bargain!
