This album evokes such a glorious sadness that one could be content to live in that melancholy forever. Lush soundscapes provide the backdrop for waterfalls of foggy vocals. I can't help but sing along with the unintelligable lyrics, pouring all the nostalgia of abandoned dreams out of my soul. There are some catchy melodies too.... a nice variety for every rainy afternoon mood. Definately a group to watch for!!!

From the opening bars to the final note, this is a refreshing slice of alternative indie. At times, the music sounds like the Beach Boys in a more serious mood. At other times, you can just lose yourself in its melonchollie charms - particularly tracks 1, 5 and 7. The Great Depression have managed to make a potentially depressing array of songs rich, melodic, and easy to listen to over and over again. I highly recommend this cd if only for the beauty of the opening track and track 5.
